Homage to Savile Row

This research draws on the unique set of craftsmen operating on Savile Row. Hearing about the techniques that shapes a well fitted blazer, is an art in itself that inspired the team to translate this into a digital world.

How can we translate bespoke tailoring in a digital world?

Starting with a block pattern, the blueprint of fit and form, we then customized the pattern to fit the intended style.

CLO is our digital atelier. Interlinings and shoulder pads are introduced to build structure and shape, giving the piece its silhouette. Throughout the process we’ve iterated on both the pattern pieces and the workmanship multiple times to refine the overall style and fit, ensuring the garment moves and behaves as though it was physically draped on a form.

We sourced pieces of premium fabrics matching the high-end fabrics of Savile Row tailoring. The shell fabric was scanned with Vizoo Scanner.

Even in the pixelated sphere, craftsmanship remains the attraction.

The many details of a tailored blazer, such as the inner pocket, was modelled in CLO and sculpted using ZBrush, while embroidery was created with geometry in Houdini. The lining is made in Substance Sampler; adding masks to achieve the diamond shapes. Every tool used is to preserve a tactile sense of craftsmanship, even within a digital rendering.
